Ban Man Pro selects a valid
campaign in the following way:
- If calling by keyword,
these campaigns always take priority. In
version 4 and higher keyword campaigns are now assigned
to zones. This allows you to have multiple sizes
on a page and use keyword for each.
- Next, if no keywords are
sent, or a campaign does not exist for the given
keyword, Ban Man Pro pulls all evenly distributed valid
campaigns for the selected zone. (Note: If a
keyword was sent but not found, Ban Man Pro will serve a
1X1 pixel image unless you provide a zone number or
name. If a zone # or name is provided, Ban Man Pro
proceeds to step 3.) Ban
Man Pro pulls all valid even campaigns, determines the
sum of the internal weightings, then pulls a banner
based on those weightings.
- If no valid Even campaigns
are found, Ban Man Pro next pulls all weighted
campaigns.
Weighting System of 100:
If a weighted campaign is found, Ban
Man Pro picks a random number between 1-100. If
the random number falls within the weighting of the
selected campaigns, the campaign is shown, otherwise Ban
Man Pro proceeds to step 4.
Weighting System of 1000
(Version 3 and higher): If a weighted campaign is found, Ban
Man Pro picks a random number between 1-1000. If
the random number falls within the weighting of the
selected campaigns, the campaign is shown, otherwise Ban
Man Pro proceeds to step 4.
Weighting System Relative
(Version 3 and higher): If a weighted campaign is found, Ban
Man Pro picks a random number between 1-Total Weightings
of All Valid Campaigns. As long as at least one
campaign is valid at any time, it will be
selected. This weighting system makes it easy to
avoid showing a default campaign.
In Sequence (Version 3 and higher):
If one or more campaigns have been specified in the
sequence, Ban Man Pro will pick the next campaign in the
sequence.
- If no weighted campaigns
are found, Ban Man Pro attempts to pull a default for
that zone size. Default campaigns are selected only
if the banner size matches that of the zone size.
- If no valid defaults are
found, a 1 X 1 pixel blank image is served.

Note:
Calling campaigns by keyword, zones by Zone Name, and evenly
weighting campaigns is only available in Ban Man Pro 2.0 and
higher. |
